Devin Chandler Killed, Three people were killed in a shooting incident at the University of Virginia campus. Devin Chandler, a former Wisconsin football player was one of the victims in the UVA shooting. As a badger wide receiver, Chandler was a Wisconsin football player in 2020 and 2021. This is the second major football loss in the program’s history, less than 24 hours following the death of Brent Moss, former tailback.
Who was Devin Chandler?
Devin Chandler was a wide receiver/return specialist who played for Wisconsin football in 2020 and 2021. He was a North Carolina native who attended Charlottesville University, Va.
He also spent a portion of his high school years in Tennessee. Chandler was a varsity player for the high school football team. He also played in six games during his two seasons with Badgers. In 2020, he averaged 26.0 yards from six kickoff returns and had two receptions of 28 yards. He also ran once for 18 yards. 
Chandler did not see an increase in his playing time in 2021 despite a great year. After finishing the 2021 season with a 21.3 yard average on four kickoff returns, Chandler entered the transfer portal in Oct.

Jim Ryan, the school’s president confirmed the tragic news that Devin Chandler had died at an early age in a press conference Monday morning. The University was locked down until Monday morning.

Devin Chandler was among the three people killed in this shooting. Two other victims were identified as Virginia defensive lineman D’Sean Perry, and wide receiver Lavel D. Davis Jr. Perry’s father confirmed his tragic death to a local newspaper.
Police Chief Tim Longo revealed that the suspect was Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a former Virginia football player. As the investigation continues, he was taken into custody.
